Love Poems

Baby, I love your car

My heart’s in the fast lane, revving for your ride

That sleek, shiny chassis, it fills me with pride

The engine’s sweet purring, a siren’s refrain

Your car’s my obsession, I just can’t abstain

The curves of the fenders, the gleam of the chrome

Your vehicle’s beauty, it’s truly my home

The thrill of the asphalt, the pulse of the road

I’m in love with the metal, the engine, the mode

But baby, I’ love your car

From near and far

I love your car

I’ll never feel your arms but baby I love your car

I know it’s a strange thing, to adore a machine

But your car ignites a fire in me

Though our paths may never cross again

My love for your car, will always remain

In the neon glow of the city night

I’m drawn to the hum of the streetlights

The thrill of the asphalt, the pulse of the road

I’m in love with the metal and chrome

Kudzu blues

Your love, a kudzu, wild and free,

Your love, entwining ’round me,

Through fields a treacherous veil,

A bittersweet illusion, a twisted tale.

In the dead of night, the blues descend,

A haunting melody that never ends.

Echoes of heartache, a bittersweet sound,

Lost in love that’s gone underground.

Oh, I got the Kudzu Blues,

I’m a tangled mess, a vine that twists

Kudzu Blues, won’t leave me alone

Like creeping ivy, my spirit’s bound,

In a tangle of sorrow, my heart unwound.

Though the blues may linger, I’ll break free,

To find a love that’s real, just for me.

A love that once bloomed, now concealed.

I should have bought a dog!

I should’ve bought a dog, thought it was a phase,

Instead, I’m here just counting all the days.

Girl, I miss your laughter and your sweet embrace,

Now I’m dodging memories in this rabid place.

I should’ve bought a dog! A Bichon Frise,

Buy some tags and a leash.

I’ll take the bark, the bite, and the fleas,

Without you here, I’m lost in memories.

Yeah, I roam this house like a hungry stray,

Searching for your love, but it’s gone away.

I’d rather have a pup to chew my shoes,

Than another day singing blues.

I’d take him to the park for day after day,

Chasing tennis balls while my heart’s gone astray.

No more empty nights with just pizza and beer,

A fluffed-up friend would always be near.

I should’ve bought a dog! A Bichon Frise,

With a leash and the paperwork that says he stays.

So here’s to pups and all their loyalty,

Next time it’s a dog instead of you and me.
